                  Payroll & A/P Clerk
                                 Primary Function

  • Perform or cross train in all accounting functions related to the revenue and payment cycles
  • This temporary assignment length will be approx. 3-4 months 

                                                                            Accountabilities

  • Accurate and timely data entry and processing of 52 weekly payroll batches per year.
  • Reconciliation of all payroll taxes
  • Processing and submittal of all certified payroll reports
  • Reconciliation of all employee benefits (401k, medical, allowances, etc)
  • Verify proper cost accounting of payments
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Assist in preparation of monthly billings
  • Assist in monthly trial balance reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly accounting close
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Minimum high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree and/or certificate in accounting is preferred
  • Experience using different accounting software and Microsoft office programs
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, general ledger accounting, and cost accounting
  • Experience with purchase orders and shipping/receiving
  • Experience in the construction industry, electrical construction helpful
  • Ability to communicate clearly and good presentation of financial reports
  • Knowledge of construction payroll and job costing.
  • Understanding of payroll taxes and employee benefits
